Cecile Daroux did flute studies, chamber music and history of music at the
Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. She won the first flute award
(P.Y Artaud) and perfectionned her style with M. Debost, J.P Rampal, A. Nicolet.
She is the winner of several international competitions : Darmstad, Kobé, Vienne.
In 2000 she wins the “Young Concert Artists” in New-York and plays solo under the
direction of P. Boulez at the Lincoln Center in 2001. Since, she appears regulary at
the Carnegie Hall, at the Miller Theater in New-York.
She gives performances as a solist in many capitals (Paris, New-York, Londres, Berlin,
Budapest, Rome, Madrid, Bruxelles, Hong Kong...), in prestigious places (Musée d’Orsay,
Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Auditorium de l’Opéra Bastille, Théâtre du Chatelet,
Cité de la Musique, Salle Pleyel, Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, Carnegie Hall,
Lincoln Center, Metropolitan Opera, Musée Reine Sofia, Mozarteum de Salzbourg...)
and in several festivals :
(Festival Pablo Casals, Festival de Noirlac, Festival Messiaen, Flâneries de Reims,
Printemps de Prague, Festival de Budapest, Labeaume en Musiques,
Les Romantiques d’Ars, La Prée, Roma Europa, Ars Musica, FestivalBoulez,
Festival Présences)...
Solo flute of the Opéra de Rouen (Direction O. Saliaberger) from 1997 to 2000,
she orientates rapidly towards a carreer of concert performer  and eclectic chamber music.
Since, she is invited by different orchestras : le philharmonique de Radio France
(Concerto de K. Penderecki), le National de Montpellier  (Concerto de J. Ibert),
le National d’Ile de France, le philharmonique  de Lausanne, le Berkeley
Symphony Orchestra (San Francisco), le Columbia Chamber Orchestra (New York),
le London Sinfonietta...
but also by the chorus Accentus et Mi1o~okosmos with whom she developed
an original repertoire.
She plays solo under the direction of P. Boulez, E.P Salonen, P. Etvôs, L.Equilbey, K.Nagano,
P. Rophé, S. Asbury, K. Karabits...
She is flute soloist of the Assembly Sospeso (New York) and member of  the Assembly
Cailiopée. She performed beside B. Hendricks, J. Migenes, M. Portai, S. Manoff,  
D. Ciocarlie, le Quatuor Modigliani, L. Moretti, K. Lethiec, L. Korcia, R. Capuçon, F. Saique,
E. Bertraiid et P. Amoyel.
As well as her classic repertoire, she creates solo pieces of P. Boulez, L. Berio, P. Hersant,
P. Dusapin, L Xenakis, G. Kurtag, G. Ligeti. K. Saariaho, J.L Agobet...
Her discographic recordings namely her CD ”Piazzolia” with P. Marquez at  Harmonia Mundi
as well as her others CD’s consecrated to the repertoire XIXth and XXth century music
(Naïve, Universal Sony) have recieved many awards (Choc du Monde de la Musique,
5 Diapasons, 4 stars Gramophone...) She is soloist beside P.L Aimard on the
CD M. Stroppa (BMG).
Her repertoire extends from Bach to Boulez where she creates the version for flute
of “Dialogue de l'ombre double”; passing by Mozart and the romantic repertory
wich she is particulary found of.
